1620 King James 1 Great Seal with 2 attached documents
Beautiful Great Seal of King James 1 of England with two attached vellum documents. The seal itself is 6" in diameter. The first document is from 1620 and measures 12" x 5.5". It concerns the parish of Nasinge (Nazeing) in Essex. The second document is titled Georgius, likely a later confirmation of the earlier document. We think it is George 1 of England and, thus, 18th century. There is a whimsical face drawn in the G of King George's name.
Protected in a red cloth covered box measuring 10" x 8" x 2" with gilded title: "James 1. Document with Great Seal 1620" on the front cover and on the spine.
